This was a note I scribbled onto a scrap sheet of paper from the library. I was reading a poem of Lewis' [Epigraphs and Epigrams] and it inspired me...I'll further conceive this rant when I return from my holiday...
Here's what I have so far ~
[discussing the tomb (grave) of Christ]
There is a barren grave
That grace overcame
Where neither heart
Nor body remain
For now,
In ethereal grandeur
Does He dwell
Beyond the silent shadows
Of my weary feet
And for Him
I can hear angels proclaiming
From the foundations
Of earth past and future immortal
His ever prevailing love
And standing there, peering in...
I enter His rest
For with joy did He suffer
'A faith magnified'
That which my own heart
[and life's tarries]
Could not mend
H.M. Henry
It's rather short. I just wanted the idea of an empty tomb or grave, where a body no longer occupies...that's a great thought I think
just in case people are wondering:
An "epigram" is a short poem or saying characterized by wit, paradox, or satire.
An "epigraph" is [1] an engraved inscription, or [2] a thematic citation at the beginning of a book.
